When I think back about the history that happened while I was growing up to graduate in the class of ’68 in small-town America, I was more thinking about relationships, dating, muscle cars, movies, TV shows, drive-ins and family events. I heard of some events while they happened but didn’t realize the full extent of how our country and the world changed with the history that took place at the same time.
A collaboration of Jason Paulson, Chad Johnson and Lucky Rimpila, the project started when Rimpila asked Johnson if he would write a song based on a poem he had written about a cancer victim entitled "Let Me Share Your Dance."
Johnson later read Rimpila's book of poems, "Oh! To Mend Straight! A Tailor of Words," and found other poems he wanted to convert into songs.

Lucky Rimpila says he fell in love with words in high school. There he started writing poetry as well as song lyrics. He has continued writing throughout his various careers. After 40+ years he published his first book which included his poetry and lyrics. Some years later he collaborated to record an album of songs he had written the lyrics to. After that he created stained glass that he said reflected his words in art. Now, he has recaptured some of the history that happened while he was growing up and attending school in his home town of Hastings, Minnesota. He is also working on a novelette about a rock band that formed during his high school years and grew to be world famous.
Lucky and his wife Connie live in southeastern Minnesota. They were blessed with three children and six grandchildren.
Lucky and Connie are both active in their church and Lucky feels he was blessed to be able to write as he does and gives the glory to God.
